Desmond Michael Collins, hailing from the diverse city of Los Santos with roots deeply embedded in the sun-kissed Caribbean, boasts a unique cultural tapestry. Both of his parents originated from the island of Saint Lucia, a paradise adorned with its iconic Pitons and the world's sole drive-in volcano. A product of mixed heritage, Desmond's lineage consists of African and European descent, with a discernible inclination towards the latter, courtesy of his father's side of the family.
In his early years, Desmond would often depart the hussle and bussle of Los Santos for the serene landscapes of Saint Lucia, becoming consumed in his Saint Lucian heritage. Despite residing in the heart of Los Santos, he clung more fervently to the customs of Saint Lucia, embodying the spirit of his ancestral roots rather than succumbing to the allure of American traditions. Brought up in a comfortable middle-income household, Desmond was privileged with a quality education, which backed by his Saint Lucian traditions, instilled in him being self-reliant. From an early age, he learned the value of independence and the importance of forging his own path in life.
This inclination towards self-sufficiency shaped Desmond into a bit of an introvert. He predominantly focuses on his own pursuits and can get tunnel vision towards his own goals, which can cause relationships and friendships to be a bit of a challenge for him. Despite that, if a cause resonates with his inner convictions, he won't hesitate (too much) to extend a helping hand to friends or those in need.
Despite his reserved nature, Desmond has massive passion for everything automotive that defies his introverted demeanor. Transitioning into his adult life, Desmond found solace and joy in the automotive world, where he would delve deep into the hands-on experience of wrenching and building cars. For several years, he honed his skills as a mechanic at a couple of licensed garages, with aspirations of getting a break into the world of motorsports.
But life, had bigger plans. A childhood dream which he initially thought unattainable. He never envisioned himself working in the world of aviation, let alone holding his own Commercial Pilot's License. This is truly the pinnacle of all his life's goals, which had he not decided to save up and pursue with his tunnel-vision mentality, may never have come true. If there is a passion bigger than his love for cars, it's his love for aviation and soaring the clear skies, seeing the world from a perspective that not many have the privilege to. The fact that he was able to make it this far, is ultimately the driving force behind his ambitions and his desire for growing his career in the aviation industry.
