FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Flight instructors are responsible for teaching students how to fly in a variety of settings using methods that include textbook education, simulators and live flight training. Flight instructors use ground-school classes both to teach students the basics of flying an aircraft and to help them prepare for the written test they can expect to face when applying for their pilot's license from the San Andreas Aviation Administration (SAAA).
After students complete textbook education, flight instructors often use simulators or dual-controlled aircraft to acquaint them with the experience of flying an aircraft. Finally, flight instructors accompany their students on live flights to complete their training. Some instructors specialize as examiners or check pilots and fly with applicants or pilots to ensure proficiency.
- Flight instructors develop curricula, instruct students in a classroom setting, conduct training flights, determine student proficiency, report on student progress and develop new teaching methods. They are responsible for training students in subjects such as aircraft systems, operating procedures, handling emergencies, problem analysis, aircraft navigation, radio operation and aerodynamics.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
You must meet the following requirements in order to apply for the position:
- Be 18 years of age
- Read, speak, write and understand the English language
- Hold either a commercial pilot certificate or airline transport pilot certificate and an instrument rating
- Have logged at least 250 hours of flight time
- Hold a valid SAAA 3rd Class Medical Cerificate (or higher)
- Receive a logbook endorsement from an authorized instructor on the fundamentals of instructing
- Pass a knowledge test on the aeronautical knowledge areas appropriate to the flight instructor rating sought
(( OUT OF CHARACTER REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must ensure they meet the following out of character requirements:
- 20 hours of playtime on any character on their User Control Panel.
- No administrative punishment within the last two months of application posting.
- A forum name in the format of "Firstname Lastname" (e.g., "John Doe").
- May only possess one forum account on the SAAA's website. Individuals who have more than one forum account must apply with their main forum account. If you do not have access to your account, contact Executive Staff for help with recovery.
- A fluent understanding of the English language, both in text and in voice.
- The ability to accurately portray and develop a realistic character.
- The possession of any double faction permissions, if applicable.
- Your out-of-character background story must be completely written by you and only you, specifically for the purpose of joining the faction.
