LICENSING

FLIGHT SCHOOLS & AVIATION ACADEMIES
DEFINITIONS

Certified Flight Instructor: a person who hold a valid Certified Flight Instructor license issued by the San Andreas Aviation Administration
Helicopter - a rotorcraft that, for its horizontal motion, depends principally on its engine-driven rotors.
Airplane - an engine-driven fixed-wing aircraft heavier than air, that is supported in flight by the dynamic reaction of the air against its wings
Aircraft Category - the category of the respective aircraft, a Helicopter, an Airplane or a Glider.




REGULATIONS

(a) A Certified Flight Instructor license will not be issued to a Pilot unless:
  • The Pilot has been evaluated by the Chief Pilot & SAAA Examiner.
  • The person has operated as a Pilot In Command for at least 1 hour within the 30 days prior to operating as a Flight Instructor under the same aircraft category for which the license type is requested.
  • The person does not meet the minimum required time as acting pilot-in-command (100 hours) in their respective category.

(b) A person must not operate as a Flight Instructor unless:
  • The person holds a valid Certified Flight Instructor license of the same aircraft category in which the instruction is commenced in.
  • The person has operated as a Pilot In Command for at least 1 hour within the 30 days prior to operating as a Flight Instructor in the same aircraft category in which the instruction is commenced in.


LICENSE TYPES
You may apply for one license type per application.
  • If you meet the requirements for a Certified Flight Instructor license under the Airplane category, you will be issued a Certified Flight Instructor - Airplane license.
  • If you meet the requirements for a Certified Flight Instructor license under the Helicopter category, you will be issued a Certified Flight Instructor - Helicopter license.

You must always carry the license on your person when utilizing the rights that the license grants you. If you have both of the licenses mentioned above - you must may either carry both licenses or only the license that is relevant to the Aircraft Category which you are instructing in.

The license will be valid for 365 days from the date of issue.



LICENSE VALIDITY
The operator to be issued this permit, must undergo a check-ride with a San Andreas Aviation Administration employee to determine the success or failure of the person in question.

The license will become valid from the date of issue and only as long as you meet the requirements listed in the San Andreas Aviation Code, Section V (LICENSING & OPERATION OF AIRCRAFT) (1) - Clause (f).

The San Andreas Aviation Administration may revoke the license at any point.


If your request to become a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) has been rejected, please do not re-attempt until you've met the waiting period of 30 days.




APPLYING FOR A FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR LICENSE
You may apply for a license using the form.

The topic title should be [LICENSE TYPE] Firstname Lastname

LICENSE TYPE should be either CFI-A (for an Airplane category) or CFI-H (for a Helicopter category).
